LensScore production methodology

Two independent lenses, one final decision

LensSetup and LensValue can be used independently. LensScore combines them for a 6–18 month buyability decision. This is a research metric, not investment advice or a prediction.

  1. LensTiming measures entry pressure on a branded 0–10 scale. RSI(14), smoothed Stochastic RSI, MACD(12,26,9) normalized to 100-bar histogram volatility, and Bollinger position (20,2) each vote from seller-side extension to buyer-side opportunity. The four-vote pressure is smoothed over three bars and inverted so 10 is the most favorable entry pressure.
  2. LensTrend measures direction only. Price versus EMA20, EMA20 versus EMA50, EMA50 versus SMA200, and the 20-bar slopes of EMA20 and EMA50 create a separate 0–10 trend score.
  3. LensSetup measures tactical buyability. LensTiming 22%, support/resistance location 20%, LensTrend 16%, price structure 14%, volume 10%, technical risk 10%, and reversal confirmation 8% produce a 2–12 week setup score. Aligned pullbacks can earn a bonus; falling knives and extended entries are capped.
  4. LensValue measures long-term opportunity. Business quality, valuation, embedded expectations and fundamental downside risk produce a 1–3 year score.
  5. LensScore combines the independent conclusions. Long-term value carries 70% and tactical setup carries 30%; strong agreement earns a bonus and major disagreement is penalized.
  6. Golden Lens requires exceptional alignment. LensValue must be at least 8.5, LensSetup at least 8.0, LensScore at least 8.5, confidence cannot be Low and no quality cap can be active.
  7. Severe risks override the formula. Going-concern, leverage and missing-data rules can cap or suppress the score.

Calibration status: LensSetup has a no-lookahead walk-forward diagnostic across 525 observations and 15 liquid U.S. symbols. Its separation is positive but still weak, so the current calibration is preliminary. LensValue and Golden Lens do not carry historical-performance claims until point-in-time fundamentals and estimates are validated across a broader, survivorship-bias-controlled universe. Missing essential evidence produces Not Rated. Serious risks can cap the score. Confidence is displayed separately.
